Learn About Our Victorian House
The practice is housed in a restored 1903 four square Victorian house located six to eight blocks from campus and downtown Iowa City. The practice consists of five clinical operatories between first and second floors.
Dr. Ann Connors purchased the house to start her practice in 1993. She envisioned a boutique office surrounded by natural light windows and furnished with local art. This feel proved to be very popular in the community as she was able to grow the business over the next 31 years.
The upstairs bedrooms were converted into operatories in 2008. While it would be tough to live there now, there is still a full kitchen and bathroom upstairs. The attic, while now working as an office for our business manager and dentists, still holds onto that at-home feel.
When Dr. Connors was moving towards retirement, she wanted someone who would be a good fit with the existing staff. She found that in Dr. Chad Olinger and sold him the practice in December 2024.
Dr. Olinger, after previously practicing in a corporate office, fell in love with the home and personal approach this practice was built on. While he plans to stay modern with his practice, he does not plan to change anything that hurts the charm and elegance of this historic building.
